Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ronald Dresnick exercised “great restraint” in a case that left him “justifiably frustrated,” the Third District Court of Appeal said Wednesday [June 20] in a ruling that denied a request by Lewis Tein to disqualify him. Dresnick’s integrity was questioned by Miami attorneys Michael Tein and Guy Lewis, who were trying to avoid being deposed about whether they committed perjury by claiming they were not paid millions of dollars by the Miccosukee tribe to represent two members in a traffic death case. The 3rd DCA opinion was written by Judge Leslie Rothenberg. Judge Linda Ann Wells concurred, and Judge Frank Shepherd concurred in the result only. [Subscription required.]
