From the Times-Union: At the heart of a state task force’s second meeting reviewing Florida’s Stand Your Ground law was whether neighborhood watch members should be able to carry guns if they have a concealed weapons permit. A separate three-person panel familiar with neighborhood watch programs said that no program they are familiar with allows people associated with them to carry guns. Most on the 19-member Task Force on Citizen Safety and Protection, chaired by Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll, agreed Tuesday that even someone with a concealed carry permit should abide by a neighborhood watch organization’s rules. The problem, some concluded, was that there is a lack of consistency. The task force will next meet Sept. 12.
